theBalm ShadyLady Eyeshadow in Jealous Jordana Review and Swatches

The second ShadyLady eyeshadow included in the Balmbini palette is Jealous Jordana, a blackened green with slight shimmer.  Unlike Insane Jane, JJ is available for individual purchase, so if you decide you love it, you don't have to buy the whole palette!  Now the question is: would you want to?
Jealous Jordana (far right)
In the pan, JJ looks like a dark teal-green, but when swatched, it's a black base with inklings of green.
In sunlight; over primer (top) and bare skin (bottom)
Out of focus to show the green tint and shimmer better
Still in sunlight, but color adjusted––this is what it looks like in inside light; much blacker than those above

Some of my thoughts: I wish the green/teal were more prevalent than the black, since I feel like once it's been blended out, it just looks dark.  It doesn't apply as pigmented as I would like, at least not over primer, which is surprising given how rich it looks in the pan.  Primer makes a huge difference.  It applies a bit patchy, but is decently blendable (though not as much as I would like).  It's too dark for me to wear in the crease, since I don't really do smokey eyes, but I imagine it would look nice if used that way by someone else for a green-based smokey eye.  I do really like using it as a liner, applied with a damp bent eyeliner brush.  It lasts all day and complements my green-blue eyes quite nicely.

Temptalia has done a review of JJ as well, based on the individual pan, and her swatches and impressions are more favorable than mine, which suggests that the formula differs between the one in the palette and the one sold on its own.  I highly recommend going and reading her review and seeing her swatch if the description of the shade appeals to you (heck, even if it doesn't, just go anyway, the swatch is gorgeous).
