30 Days: Day 15

Halfway through the 30 Days series! YAY! Only...9 months left, I'd guess? Also, HOW IS IT ALREADY SEPTEMBER?!

What's in your purse right now?

I love seeing posts from people showing the contents of their bags, so I thought I should do a post on the same! My purse, a gift from L, is very spacious, and I use it as my school bag as well as being my purse, so it's got a lot of stuff in it.
It's also been a few days since I've cleaned out the lip products, so there's quite a stash...

General Purse-Type Stuff
Clockwise from top left:
Glasses cleaning cloth, which came with my glasses
Prescription sunglasses that are, unfortunately, not the right prescription (because I lost those after wearing them once, fml), and I think wearing them for any extended period of time gives me migraines, so I should probably just take them out.
Keychain, which has about a bajillion things on it:

Rape whistle, pepper spray, Graduate School-supplied USB stick, little beaded keychain, and keys to both my offices, the main linguistics building, the conference room, the break room, and the linguistics lab. These are not keys you can stick in your pocket, ha! Also, this makes me realize I should probably actually get around to getting a key to the house. I usually just use the one attached to the car keys, when I have those with me, or go in through the garage. Too much effort to get a new one made...
Bag of homemade granola, for when I get hungry. Lactose free! And delicious, of course.
BAC tester, which my mother gave to me as a birthday present. You have to wait at least 20 minutes after you've eaten or drunk anything for it to be accurate––if you've just had a sip of cocktail, it will tell you your BAC is 0.34 and you should be dead. Fun party trick!
Lab access and ID card, which lets me into the lab building after hours
Sephora mirror, for touching up my lipstick
Seafood watch booklet, which informs me of which fish I should feel okay eating and which ones I should avoid for environmental reasons
Phone, aka my second brain
Wallet, which is really more of a small clutch

School-related Stuff
iPad and pen, for taking notes and reading articles (if you're in academia, iPads are super helpful for keeping track of the mountains of materials that accumulate––at least, that do in linguistics, and I assume the others as well!)
L2L textbook, one of the textbooks I used in my class (which is now over, yippee/waaah)
Green 0.5mm pen, because making corrections in red is just cruel (plus, Go Ducks!)

Health-Related Stuff
Ibuprofen tablets, for when I have headaches
Lactase fast-act tablets 9000 fcc units, because I can't personally avoid eating dairy, so I take these before I ingest anything with dairy (usually 2 tablets, hard cheeses or yogurt only 1 [most of the time]). Costco brand, 180 tablets for $15. Consider this your PSA of the day.
Inhaler, for those very rare times that my asthma acts up

Random Beauty Stuff
All of this is transported in a little cosmetics bag, free from Target (yayyy free stuff!). Clockwise from left:
theBalm TimeBalm concealer in Lighter than Light, for times when I need to touch up, which are not all that common, thanks to my hardy primer-foundation-powder combo
NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Flush, for when I need to add some color––also not too common
L'Occitane Hand Cream*, for when my hands are dry
Jack Black Grapefruit & Ginger lip balm, for when my lips are dry
California Mango Magic cuticle oil, which smells delightful and is tiny enough to fit anywhere but since it's cuticle oil it lasts forever! I like applying it when I'm bored in class (I don't like sitting still...)
More lactase! Because that stuff just falls every which way.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 70*, for when I'm out in the sun longer than expected or am with someone who forgot to apply theirs

Lippies
Left to right:
Sephora lip brush, which I'd brought with me in the car to apply Dior Rouge Favori with. It's since been relocated to my bathroom to be washed.
Guerlain Rouge Automatique Chamade, which I'd carried with me one day when I was wearing warmer makeup
Le Métier de Beauté Purple Haze, because it has been accompanying me most of the time as a handy goes-with-everything (cool) nude
Shiseido Lacquer Rouge Nymph, because you guys it's so beautiful
Clarins Color Quench Lip Balm Coral Pink, which I'd worn with Guerlain Chamade
Dior Rouge Dior Rouge Favori, for testing (it passed)
Revlon Sugar Plum lip butter, because I never go anywhere without one

Geez, no wonder my purse feels heavy sometimes...when I'm not carrying it for school, I take out the iPad and textbook, but pretty much everything else is the same. I'm now inspired to clean out the lippies, though! Purple Haze, Nymph, and Sugar Plum are pretty much staples at this point...

And here's how my purse looks from above, with everything crammed in:
That nice middle zipper part is where I stick any coupons I have (always either restaurant- or beauty-related; currently there's a couple for hair dye).

What's in your purse? More than this? Less? Do you carry a big or small purse? How often do you clean it out? (Confession: I tend to let stuff accumulate in my purse until it gets to be enough that it annoys me, or, as was the case this time, I have some free time––I cleaned it out while my students were listening to the final lecture. It was very productive for everyone! Soon there will be more lactase wrappers and random receipts cluttering it up again, I'm sure.)

Items marked with a * were free samples (not press samples [ha! like anyone would give me, the queen of snark, drunken ramblings, and liberal cursing, promotional products], just stuff I got with purchases or free promotions)
