Make Up For Ever Love: Aqua Brow in Ash 25 and Full Cover Concealer in Pink Porcelain 1

I considered breaking these up, because brow gel and concealer have basically nothing in common, but they're both in squeeze tubes and they're both MUFE, so I figured I could get away with combining them. Plus, I don't really have all that much to say about either!

30 Days: Day 16

What's your least favorite part of makeup-ing yourself?

For me, it's brows. My routine involves plucking any stray hairs that I missed in the last round (I usually do full-on plucking at night and strays in the morning), brushing them into shape with a spoolie, applying brow powder (though I do need to get new brow powder at some point, as the one I have is too dark and red––any suggestions for matte brown taupes?) with smudge brush or, more recently, the Real Techniques brow brush, and gelling them in place. The whole process takes less than a minute, but the entire time I bitch to myself about how bored and annoyed I am. That being said, it does make a big difference in helping my face look "finished", so I continue to do it.

But I'm not happy about it, damnit!

What about you?

Taming the Brows: Prestige Cosmetics Clear Brow Gel and Essence Eyebrow Stylist Set Reviews and Pictures

I have caterpillar brows. They're dark, they're big, and they are unashamedly there. Keeping my brows groomed is a sisyphean task, but plucking (like, every other day, gawd) helps keep them relatively well-behaved. After reading that brows and mascara are the two most important parts of a beauty routine on more than one blog, I figured I should maybe try and do something to further polish my brows. I looked for clear mascara at the drugstore, but had no luck, until one day, during a Prestige sale, I happened upon their clear brow gel, which I of course promptly snatched up. After using it for a couple days, I realized that, big and bold though my brows may be, they could use a little filling in in some places, so I picked up the Essence Eyebrow Stylist Set for ~$3 at Fred Meyer, since I figured the two matte shadows included were bound to be workable.

Eyebrow Grooming

This is dedicated to N, who is unfortunately out of the country, but I trust she will see it when she returns!

I have been "blessed" with very dark, very prolific eyebrows.  Being pale with dark hair is really a pain--something Snow White never mentioned.  Curse you, Disney!  Admittedly, the whole immediate-stubble thing is less of a problem than the marrying-the-guy-who-sleep-kisses-you thing, but that's for another blog.  For today, I'm going to talk about eyebrow grooming options, for all of those who have similar "blessings" as me.
